Yamaha Reveals MY22 Aerox 155 Maxi Scooter

Yamaha recently introduced the Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in the Indian market. The brand also upgraded the colour line of the product in India with a new Metallic Black shade. Now the Japanese manufacturer has revealed the 2022 Aerox 155 maxi-scooter, specifically for the Indonesian market. Yamaha could bring the updated Aerox 155 maxi-scooter to India by the end of 2022. Meanwhile, the Indonesia-spec scooter showcases six new colours. Two new colours for the ABS variant and four for the Connected variant. Yamaha has not made any mechanical changes nor added any special features to the Aerox 155. This is also likely to be the case when the scooter comes to India in the MY22 avatar.

2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 – Design and Colours 

The 2022 Aerox 155 maintains its iconic yet unique styling a unique crossover between a motorcycle and scooter. The brand offers large LED headlamps and the maxi-scooter sports an ‘X’ centre motif. The “Heart-Shaking Speedster” design concept also offers comfortable yet sporty ergonomics. The Indonesian-spec ABS variant comes with a new Matte Black Gold and Matte White colour options with bronze-coloured wheels and graphics. On the other hand, the connected version gets Matte Black Cyan, Dark Grey Yellow, Black with Red highlights and Red with contrasting Black bodywork.

2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 – Technical Specification 

Powering the Aerox 155 is a Yamaha YZF-R15 derived 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC single-cylinder engine. The engine produces 15 PS of power and 13.9 Nm of torque. The motor comes with features such as Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and transmits its power to the road via a CVT automatic gearbox. VVA and ISG allow the Aerox 155 to showcase maximum performance and efficiency along with silent and seamless starts. The scooter also comes with automatic stop/start technology, to reduce fuel consumption.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes with an Underbone Frame Type chassis. The scooter rides on telescopic front forks and twin rear suspension with a double-sided swingarm. The maxi-scooter rides of large 14-inch alloy wheels on both ends. In addition to this, the Yamaha also gets a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The scooter features 24.5-litres of under-seat storage and a 5.8-inch LCD dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity.
