TVS Motor Company has recorded sales of 3,55,033 units for the month of October 2021. In the last year, for the corresponding period last year, the sales figure stood at 3,94,724 units. The brand also expects the demand to improve as a wide population in the Indian market is being vaccinated.
Two-Wheeler Sales
In the two-wheeler segment, TVS sold a total of 3,41,513 units in October 2021, as against 3,82,121 units for October 2020. In the domestic market, the brand sold 2,58,777 units for October 2021. As compared to October 2020, the figure stood at 3,01,380 units. Under two-wheelers, the motorcycle segment contributed to 1,72,361 units in October 2021, as against 1,73,263 units in October 2020. Scooters contributed to 1,13,124 units in October 2021, against 1,27,138 units for October 2020.
Three-Wheelers
In the three-wheeler segment, TVS recorded a total sales of 13,520 units for October 2021. In October 2020 the brand recorded sales of 12,603 units.
TVS Exports
In the export market, the figure grew by 3 per cent over last year. In October 2021 the export was 95,191 units, while for October 2020, the figure was 95,250 units. The brand revealed that the two-wheeler segment accounted for the growth of 3 per cent for exports. The segment attracted sales of 82,736 units for October 2021. Meanwhile, the figure for October 2020 stood at 80,741 units.
TVS Scooty 5 Million Sales
Recently, the TVS Scooty also crossed 5 million sales since its inception in the Indian market. The Scooty made its debut in India in 1996. Since then, the commuter scooter has evolved to the current generation model. The brand is also celebrating the festive season with an array of festive offers. These include various special schemes, the latest choice of colours, new refreshes and updated pricing.
TVS also announced its partnership with Tata Power to set up an electric two-wheeler charging infrastructure. A good ecosystem for EVs will help accelerate the green mobility initiative. Currently, TVS only has one electric scooter in its portfolio which is the iQube.
