In the recent past, Triumph introduced the Tiger Sport 660 adventure motorcycle in the international markets. Now the brand has announced that the new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 will make its market debut in India. This means that the brand will have a new entry-level adventure motorcycle for the Indian market. Now, Triumph has already started accepting bookings for the Tiger Sport 660 at the booking amount of INR 50,000. Triumph will retail the new Tiger Sport 660 from the brand’s physical and digital showrooms. In the international market, Triumph offers the Tiger Sport 660 in 3 colour options – Lucerne Blue, Sapphire Black, and Korosi Red. Triumph India has not mentioned the final price of the touring motorcycle.
Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Design & Features
The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 draws its design inspiration from other Tiger range of motorcycles. The bike comes with a sharp front fascia and an all-new bodywork with sculpted wing mirrors. The touring and adventure sports design come with a tall windscreen, muscular radiator shrouds, fork protectors, and a mid-ship mounted exhaust. The bike also features twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs and turn indicators as well as a 17-litre fuel tank.
Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Technical Specifications
Powering the Tiger Sport 660 is a 660cc inline, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled, engine. The 12-valve DOHC engine produces 81 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque. Triumph has also equipped the engine with a 240-degree firing order and an advanced engine management system. The motorcycle also comes with ride-by-wire throttle functionality, a 6-speed transmission and a slip and assist clutch.
Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – CKD
Triumph has witnessed more than 50% growth in sales is from the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route in the Indian market. The brand has also been reported tapped into tier-2 and -3 markets thanks to the local assembly. Reports suggest that the British brand will also bring the Tiger Sport 660 in India via the CKD route. This will also help Triumph keep prices competitive. Currently, the Triumph Trident 660, the platform on which the Tiger Sport 660 is based on also comes to the Indian soil via the same route.
