Iconic British brand Triumph has launched the new Street Scrambler motorcycle in the Indian market at the price of INR 9.35 lakh ex-showroom. The new Street Scrambler further expands Triumph’s modern-classic segment adding another Street Scrambler model to the existing higher-specification Street Scrambler Sandstorm. Compared to the BS4 predecessor, the new Street Scrambler is INR 80,000 expensive. However, the motorcycle not only offers a cleaner BS6/Euro5 compliant engine but also cosmetic upgrades when compared to the BS4 model.
Triumph Street Scrambler – Features
The new Street Scrambler comes with features such as LED headlamps and LED taillamps. The bike also features a new brushed aluminium headlight bracket. The new model gets new throttle body finishers, an analogue speedometer and an LCD multi-functional display. The motorcycle comes with a classic style fuel tank with prominent knee recesses and bench seats. Triumph also offers high-mount twin exhausts, spoke-wire rims shod in dual-sport tyres. The engine and running gear on the Triumph Street Scrambler comes with a black finish.
Triumph Street Scrambler – Technical Specifications
Powering the Street Scrambler is a 900cc parallel-twin-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. The engine features a 270-degree crank angle and SOHC valvetrain distribution system. The motor produces 65 PS of power and 80 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed gearbox coupled with a wet multi-plate clutch with torque assist function. The Street Scrambler rides on a double-cradle chassis. The bike also comes with 41mm forks with cartridge damping on the front and twin shocks with adjustable preload on the rear. Braking power comes from a 310mm floating disc with Brembo 4-piston axial calliper on the front and a single 255mm disc on the rear with a Nissin calliper. Triumph has equipped the Street Scrambler with ABS for safety.
The brand also retails the Street Scrambler Sandstorm with a price tag of INR 9.95 lakh ex-showroom.
