Iconic British brand Triumph has announced that it has started accepting pre-bookings for the 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 in India. Triumph had made the announcement through the brand’s official social media platform. During the first week of December 2021, Triumph introduced the new Tiger 1200 in two variants- GT and Rally. The company also announced that the new Tiger 1200 has a lightweight chassis with nearly 25 kgs shaved off from the components.
2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Design Details
The 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 features a sleek design language and an adventure-focused stance. The design inspiration is drawn from the enduro motorcycles. This means, the Tiger 1200 will come with a new radiator, running gear, and a minimalist exhaust system. Also, the Tiger 1200 retains certain details from its predecessors, such as the front beak, the tall windscreen etc.
2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Variants
Triumph offers the new Tiger 1200 with a GT and Rally variant. The Tiger 1200 GT is a road-focused variant featuring the Tiger 1200 GT (20-litre fuel tank), Tiger 1200 GT Pro, and Tiger GT Explorer (30-litre fuel tank). The GT variant of the Tiger 1200 comes with 19-inch cast aluminium front wheels and 18-inch rear wheels.
On the other hand, the Rally variant of the Triumph Tiger 1200 is an off-road focussed variant with two trim levels. The Tiger 1200 Rally Pro (20-litre fuel tank) and a Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer (30-litre fuel tank). The Rally variant of the bike features 21-inch front tubeless spoked wheels with 18-inches at the rear.
2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Powertrain Details
Powering the new Tiger 1200 is a 1160cc, triple engine with dual radiators and a unique T-plane crankshaft and firing order. The engine produces 150 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque. Triumph offers a new lightweight chassis and a bolt-on rear aluminium subframe. The motorcycle also gets new pillion hangers and a swingarm. The new Tiger 1200 rides on advanced Showa semi-active suspension for road and off-road use. Braking power comes from Brembo Stylema brake callipers with optimized cornering ABS and IMU.
