Electric mobility brand Simple Energy has announced that the company will begin deliveries in India from June 2022. The company unveiled its flagship electric scooter Simple One on August 15th, 2021. The company has witnessed a record 30,000 bookings and the popularity of the e-scooter is growing more. Via the brand’s official Twitter account, Simple Energy revealed that it will deliver the e-scooter across multiple cities simultaneously beginning from June 2022. The brand is currently behind improving the Simple One e-scooter and the brand will start full-scale production and manufacturing soon.
Simple One Electric Scooter – Highlights
Simple Energy announced that the scooter comes with a price tag of INR 1,09,999 ex-showroom. The Simple One e-scooter comes with a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This helps the scooter accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 2.95 seconds and features 4 riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. The company offers the e-scooter in 4 colours – Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, and Grace White.
The Simple Energy scooter comes with a claimed range of up to 203 km per charge. the batteries come with a charging rate of 2.5 km/minute. In addition to this, the e-scooter will come with a large 30-litre storage boot, an intuitive smart dashboard, and an angular sharp design. The scooter also features elements like winglets on the sides, a sleek body structure, and integrated turn indicators. Simple Energy revealed that it will produce the e-scooter at Phase 1 of its manufacturing unit at Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Development Plans
Simple Energy has also revealed that the brand commissioned a second plant at Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. The plant has an area of 600 acres with a capacity of producing 12.5 million units in a year. The new plant is also said to feature its own future-ready EV ecosystem and an R&D centre. The production plant will also come with a world-class testing facility. Simple Energy also revealed its plans of developing an advanced thermal management system with the Indian Institute of Technology-Indore.
