The celebration of World Water Day focuses on the global water crisis that is prevailing all across the globe. Tackling the water crisis is pivotal as water is one of the necessities of life. To sustain life, water is most important, we cannot live without it. Taking care of the crisis is our responsibility. There are various sources of water like lakes, rivers, big dams, streams, wells, and rivers which is around 1.2% of water is suitable for human use.  

World Water Day Focus of 2021

World Water Day 2021 is celebrated with the focus of valuing water. The value of water is much more than its price. Water has complex usage for all sorts of purposes. If we start overlooking the values then we are risking our lives with these irreplaceable returns. Ensured sanitization is required at the utmost priority. The comprehensive understanding of the water is true and multi-dimensional value will enable one to safeguard the critical resources that ultimately benefit all. 

Here are some ways on how we can practice conserving water in our daily routine. 

  • Keep the tap closed when in use and don’t ignore the water leaks. 
  • Use the collected rainwater for various other purposes.
  • Never run more water than necessary while doing daily chores.
  • Never prolong your bathing hours and do not allow the quick water to run it. 
  • Practice the use of rainwater harvesting.

Tips to Save Water while Washing your Two-wheeler

Keeping the bike clean is a regular thing. We need a lot of water to clean it, but we need to save water too. By following certain steps will keep the bike clean and also less water is consumed. 

  1. Dust the dirt off from the Bike  

Dust off the vehicles before you start spraying water on them. Undoubtedly, you will be able to save water. Use a soft rag to remove the dry dust off your bike. It is advised to keep the bike always covered to reduce the amount of dust falling on it. If you timely dust your bike before taking it out for the day then you do not require too much water to clean it. 

  1. Use Bucket of water instead of water spray 

The hosepipe spray used on the bike to clean it may take less time but you won’t have any control over the water flow. Using a bucket full of water is much better to have a limit on the water usage. This will reduce the gallons of water in such arrangements. Pressurized water flow, if used, is judiciously more efficient in the long run.

A dry wash or a steam cleaning is a great technique to save water. In this case, you have to take your two-wheeler to the washing area to get professional help. As per the research, 45% of the water usage is saved using this method of washing the vehicle. It takes considerably less time than other types of washing. 

  1. Garden- The best place to wash your bike

Since a bike takes less space you can keep it in the garden and use a bucket of water to wash it at home. This way you can make sure that the biodegradable cleaning shampoos. The water will remain in the garden and ultimately help the grass to get enough water to bloom. It is very effective to follow this method as it helps two ways- cleaning and conserving.
