Powering the Himalayan 650 could be the same 648cc, air, and oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine. The engine produces 47 PS of power and 52 Nm of torque. The motor comes with a 6-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate clutch. Royal Enfield employs the engine on the RE Interceptor 650 and RE Continental GT650. The engine on the Himalayan could be tuned in a specific way to offer both highway and trail dynamics.
