Ola Electric plans to begin test rides on the new Ola S1 electric scooter from 10th November 2021. Before the commencement of the test rides, Ola has made the new Hypercharger functional. Using the Ola Electric Hypercharger customers will be able to charge their e-scooter batteries from 0-50% in just 18 minutes. The brand will be installing around 100,000 charging points in 400 cities across the country. This will create robust charging infrastructure in the country and reduce the range anxiety of the customer. Also, the brand will install over 5,000 charging points across 100 cities in India creating a dense network.
Ola Electric Hypercharger Network
Using the Ola Hypercharger customers will be able to gain about 75 km worth of charging in just 18 minutes. Ola will be deploying the Hyperchargers in city centres and popular locations around the city. Ola will also build stand-alone towers in dense business districts. Furthermore, Ola will deploy the charging stations in malls, cafes, office complexes, IT parks etc.
Home Charging
Apart from this, customers will also be able to charge their electric scooters from the comfort of their homes. Using a 15Amp socket, customers can charge the scooter overnight. Customers will also be able to find the Hypercharger using a dedicated Ola Electric App. Customers can also pay for the charger through their mobile phone making it a seamless process. Also, the customer will be able to monitor the charging process remotely using the Ola Electric App.
Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro
Ola Electric launched the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro on 15th August 2021. The Ola S1 comes with a price tag starting at INR 99,999 ex-showroom. The S1 Pro comes with a sticker price of INR 129,999 ex-showroom. The pricing may vary according to the state subsidy and thanks to the FAME II scheme customers can purchase the Ola Scooter for as low as INR 79,999 ex-showroom, Gujarat. The Ola S1 comes with a 2.9 kWh battery pack that powers a ‘Hyperdrive motor’.
