TVS-owned British motorcycle manufacturer Norton has revealed the latest luxury superbike, the Norton V4SV. The Norton V4SV is one of the few superbikes in production by the Norton brand. Norton has designed the motorcycle in Britain and the bike draws inspiration from road racing. The company boasts that the bike is tested on the Isle of Man TT, where the V4SV commemorates the company’s 100 years of racing success. In addition to this, Norton also revealed that the V4SV will replace the old V4SS becoming Norton’s flagship superbike. The brand has put a sticker price of GBP 44,000 MSRP which roughly converts to INR 40.88 lakh.
2021 Norton V4SV – Design and Features
The Norton V4SV features a complete carbon-fibre bodywork including a 15-litre carbon-fibre fuel tank. The fuel tank of the motorcycle is Kevlar-reinforced for added safety. The bike features billet-machined footrests and controls. The V4SV also comes with an aluminium, mirror-finished, tubular frame and a single-sided billet swingarm.
The Norton V4SV comes with two colour options – Manx and Carbon. The Manx colour scheme features a silver-coloured body with red and black accents. The colour theme also features a Union Jack flag at the rear saddle, and Red OZ racing forged aluminium wheels. On the other hand, the Carbon colour scheme comes with black carbon-fibre bodywork, and Union Jack flags in monochrome. The brand also offers Grey accents and carbon-fibre BST wheels with this theme.
Norton offers the V4SV with features such as an LED headlamp, indicators and tail light. The motorcycle also comes with DRL-style lighting mode and ‘Engine Mode’ adjustment. Norton offers a keyless ignition system with an electronic steering lock. The bike also comes with Wet, Road, and Sport modes as well as other electronic riding aids. These include a traction control system with a quick shifter and auto blipper. The V4SV also comes with a 6-inch instrument display with automatic brightness and a rear-view camera.
2021 Norton V4SV – Technical Specifications
Powering the Norton V4SV is a 1200cc V4 engine. The engine produces 185 PS of power and 125 Nm of torque. To put things into perspective the V4SS produces 200 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque. The motorcycle rides on a fully adjustable Ohlins NIX30 front fork suspension and an Ohlins TTXGP rear monoshock suspension. For stopping power the bike gets dual 330mm front Brembo discs and a single 245mm rear disc brake.
