The LML brand is being resurrected in the Indian market. The brand has revealed that it plans to make a comeback with electric vehicles in the Indian market. The company known for its scooters and motorcycles through the 1990s filed for insolvency in 2017. In August 2020 LML also scrapped its spare parts and machines after dismantling its manufacturing plant. The company now needs another manufacturing plant with the latest-generation technology. LML has announced that its electric vehicle certical LML Electric is currently laying the groundwork for a long-term future in the EV business. The brand will also help cater to the demand from the international market as well as the Indian market.
LML Partners with Saera Electric Auto
LML revealed that the brand has joined hands with Saera Electric Auto. For the uninitiated, Saera Electric Auto is one of the largest auto two-wheeler producers, globally. Saera Auto Electric was also formerly manufacturing for the renowned Harley Davidson, reveals LML. The company used to produce the American motorcycle at their state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Bawal, Haryana. LML will also leverage the brand to develop the highly-anticipated EV range of products.
Future Ready and Made in India
LML has revealed that the company will be using a future-ready manufacturing facility of 2,17,800 square feet. The company will also have a capacity of 18,000 units per month. The state-of-the-art facility will help LML streamline, scale-up and provide world-class quality assurance. LML will be introducing its electric vehicle range in the Indian market to compete with the likes of the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather Energy etc. With heavy localisation, LML will also be eligible to get incentives from the government which will allow the brand to keep the prices to the minimum.
