KTM has finally launched the Generation-2 RC200 motorcycle in the Indian market. The much-much-awaited bike comes with a complete design overhaul, new ergonomics, new features, the same Euro5/BS6 compliant engine but reduced weight from the body and chassis. KTM has also worked extensively in the aerodynamics department to help channel air around the rider. The lighter and slipper RC200 will now obtain faster lap times on the track as well as function as a relatively comfortable motorcycle on the streets for everyday use. However, KTM has managed to keep the pricing quite similar to the predecessor even after adding many new features on the motorcycle. The new KTM RC 200 Gen-2 comes with a price tag of INR 2.09 lakh ex-showroom. The predecessor was priced at INR 2.08 lakh ex-showroom.
KTM RC200 Gen-2 – New Features
The KTM RC200 Gen2 comes with new features such as completely redesigned bodywork and styling. The brand is offering the bike in two colour options – Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic. The bike’s new design draws inspiration from the KTM RC16 MotoGP machine and comes with an aerodynamic fascia, side panels and tail. The KTM RC200 features LED headlamps and taillamps along with the front fascia integrated turn indicators. The brand offers a new sculpted tank with an increase in capacity from 9.5 litres to 13.7 litres. Significant changes include a new stiffer, lighter split-steel trellis frame and lightweight alloy wheels that reduce the rotational mass. The brand also employs new hollow axles to reduce the overall weight. The bike also comes with new adjustable clip-on handlebars and an LCD dashboard. The seats also come with a major upgrade in both shape and style.
KTM RC200 Gen-2 – Technical Specifications
The KTM RC200 comes with a BS6 compliant 200cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces 25.5 Hp of power and 19.5 Nm of torque. The electronically fuel-injected engine comes with a larger airbox enhancing the breathability of the motor. The new engine also gets a curved radiator to improve the thermodynamics of the engine. The engine pairs with a 6-speed gearbox with the brand’s ‘READY TO RACE’ DNA.
