India Kawasaki Motors has launched the MY22 updated Z900 in the Indian market. The new sport naked motorcycle comes with an INR 8.42 lakh ex-showroom price tag and features a single Metallic Spark Black color option. The MY21 Z900 came with two color options – Metallic Graphite Grey and Candy Lime Green. The predecessor was also nearly INR 43,000 cheaper than the MY22. The MY22 Kawasaki Z900 comes with effectively the same Euro5/BS6 compliant engine and features. But Kawasaki claims to have improved the suspension settings, and the new model also comes with a stronger frame.
2022 Kawasaki Z900 – Design
The MY22 Kawasaki Z900 adopts the brand’s hallmark “Z Sugomi” styling. This consists of a low-positioned head and a high upswept tail section, like a crouching stance. The Z900 comes with an eccentric LED headlamp with integrated LED DRLs. The bike also features a small smoked flyscreen that hides the instrument cluster and protects the rider from wind blasts. The Z900 gets a muscular fuel tank with prominent knee recesses and radiator cowlings. In addition to this, the bike also comes with a short front fender, a sleek tail and step up seats. Kawasaki has also painted the mainframe and subframe in green, contrasting with the black bodywork. The motorcycle also features 17-inch black-finish alloy wheels shod in chunky Dunlop Sportsmax Roadsport 2 tyres.
2022 Kawasaki Z900 – Features
The MY22 Kawasaki Z900 comes with features such as a 4.3-inch TFT colour instrumentation. The all-digital dashboard offers a high-tech, high-grade view and comes with Bluetooth technology built into it. Rider’s can access several functions using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP.” The motorcycle also comes with a choice of Full Power or Low Power modes for riders to set their power delivery preference. The Low Power Mode limits the output to approximately 55% of Full Power, offering more command over the engine. The Kawasaki Z900 also comes with KRTC (Kawasaki Traction Control) that integrates with Riding Modes. Rider’s can choose from – Sport, Road, Rain or a User Customizable riding modes. The KRTC automatically configures its settings according to the selected riding mode.
2022 Kawasaki Z900 – Technical Specifications
Powering the MY22 Kawasaki Z900 is a Euro5/BS6 compliant 948cc inline four-cylinder engine. The engine is not just cleaner to the environment but also comes with a “More Exciting Exhaust Sound”. The liquid-cooled engine produces 125 PS of power and 98.6 Nm of torque. The motor is matched to a 6-speed return type gearbox. The Kawasaki Z900 rides on an improved 41mm inverted fork setup on the front and a horizontal back-link suspension on the rear. Braking power comes from 300mm twin petal disc brakes on the front and a single 250mm petal disc on the rear with hydraulic stoppers, equipped with dual-channel ABS.
