Kawasaki Z650RS Retro-Classic Motorcycle Makes Debut at India Bike Week 2021

Kawasaki recently launched the new MY22 Z650RS in the Indian market. Now the motorcycle has made its official debut in India at the India Bike Week 2021. Kawasaki offers the new bike with two colour options – Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Gray. The brand also confirmed that the bike will come with a price tag of INR 6,65,000 (ex-showroom). To put things into perspective, the Z650RS is INR 41,000, costlier than Z650 and INR 4,000 more than the Ninja 650. The motorcycle competes with Triumph Trident 660, which comes with a sticker price of INR 6.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). Customers can get a detailed price break-up, including the on-road price, on Kawasaki India’s official website. The brand also revealed that deliveries on the motorcycle are likely to begin this month.

Kawasaki Z650RS – Engine Specifications

Powering the Kawasaki Z650RS is a 649cc parallel-twin engine. The venerable engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox and produces 68 BHP of power and 64 Nm of torque. The brand claims that the new motorcycle is now more responsive. The motorcycle rides on a trellis frame that gets a 41mm telescopic fork on the front and preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking power comes from twin 300mm discs at the front and a single 220 mm disc at the rear.

Design Highlights

The Kawasaki Z650RS comes with a round LED headlight and artillery shell-style twin-pod instrumentation cluster. The brand also offers multiple spoke wheels that perfectly resonate with the retro look of the motorcycle. The motorcycle comes with Metallic Moondust Gray shade with black spoke wheels. On the other hand, the Candy Emerald Green colour option gets golden finish spokes. The brand also offers ergonomic seating, upright handlebars and mid-set footpegs.
