Kawasaki is planning to bring a new retro-classic motorcycle to the international market. Reports suggest that the Japanese brand is working on a bike that is likely to make its debut next year. The new modern-classic bike could be the Z400RS. The new bike is likely to come with the Retrovolution design philosophy. The design will be similar to the Z650RS and the Z900RS. Thanks to the booming modern-classic segment the brand could be planning to bring a new entry-level bike for the international market. If Kawasaki introduces the Z400RS the motorcycle will position itself just below the Z650RS. This will make the retro-classic segment more accessible especially in developing markets like India.

Team Green will also offer the Z400RS with a straight bench seat featuring premium tuck and roll upholstery. The bike will also come with a sleek tail section and an LED taillamp on the rear. The Z400RS will also come with a tapered handlebar, mid-set footpegs and an ergonomic seating position.
Kawasaki Z400RS – Engine Speculations
The Kawasaki Z400RS could borrow the powertrain from the current Ninja 400. The bike comes with a 399cc liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine. The engine produces 49 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed transmission along with an assist and slipper clutch. The bran is also likely to offer 41mm telescopic forks on the front and a mono-shock on the rear. Braking power will come from dual-disc brakes on the front and single-disc on the rear with rounded profiles to match the modern-classic look. The Z400RS is also likely to come with 17-inch thin spoked alloy wheels.
Will Kawasaki Launch the Z400RS in India?
Owing to the popularity of the modern-classic segment in the country, Kawasaki is likely to launch the bike after it makes it debut in the international market. The brand also recently launched the Z650RS in India with a sticker price of INR 6.65 lakh ex-showroom.
