Harley-Davidson is recalling 3,917 units of the Sportster S models. As per reports, the brand has made a voluntary safety recall to fix a software issue with the instrument cluster of the motorcycle. Reports suggest that riders have noticed that both the speedometer and neutral gear indicator fail to display when the ambient temperature is zero degrees or below. The issue is critical for riders riding in conditions with climatic conditions that may lead to the ambient temperature below zero degrees centigrade. Without any idea about the vehicle speed, the rider would not know the speed of the motorcycle leading to an accident. Records also suggest that the Pan America 1250, which is sold in the US market between May 24 to October 19 2021, are also facing the same issue.
Reports reveal that the Sportster S models manufactured between May 21 to December 13 2021, are also affected by the same issue. Harley Davidson will be fixing the affected part through a free software update. Harley-Davidson customers can visit their nearest Harley-Davidson dealership to get the issue fixed.
