Royal Enfield unveiled an all-new SG650 Twin Concept motorcycle at the EICMA (International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition) show in Milan, Italy. The new Royal Enfield SG650 Concept marks a new beginning in the Chennai-based brand’s 120-year-old history. Royal Enfield boasts that the company is renowned for its expression and conceptual development which can be seen in the new concept motorcycle. The brand also announced that the new SG650 Concept is the work of Royal Enfield’s Industrial Design Team led by Mark Wells, Chief of Design. The new Royal Enfield SG650 Concept offers the brand’s design sensibilities along with a classic design theme. Furthermore, the brand also showcases the future of Royal Enfield’s design, showcasing a whole new era of motorcycling.
Royal Enfield SG650 Twin Concept – Design Highlights
In terms of design, the Royal Enfield SG650 Twin Concept highlights a contemporary low slung stance with a muscular body. The SG650 Concept bridges the gap between the classic and timeless motorcycles with the motorcycles of the future. According to Royal Enfield, the new SG650 Concept offers a bike made for the new cyber, neon saturated, urban jungle. The SG650 Concept comes with a classic rounded headlamp encompassed in a silver shroud that offers a sleek and aerodynamic look on the front. Royal Enfield offers an elongated fuel tank with digital graphics giving us a glimpse of the future. The SG650 Concept also offers a floating single-seat and short front and rear fenders. Contributing to the low slung looks are also the bar-end mirrors.
Royal Enfield SG650 Twin Concept – Features
The brand has also revealed that the SG650 Concept features one-off fabricated components, individually designed for the bike. The fuel tank has been CNC billet machined from a solid block of aluminium to give it a seamless look. The Concept bike also comes with uniquely designed brake callipers and dual front disc brakes. The SG650 Concept also comes with an integrated aluminium top yoke/nacelle unit, low rise extra-wider bars and all aluminium switch cubes.
Royal Enfield SG650 Twin Concept – Powertrain
Powering the Royal Enfield SG650 Twin Concept is a 650 Twin engine and exhaust system finished in black. The engine currently powers the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 in the global markets. The engine produces 47 Hp of power and 52 Nm of torque. The power unit comes with a 6-speed transmission.
