Ducati has revealed the new DesertX concept motorcycle, which will make its debut at the Ducati World Premiere 2022. The Ducati World Premiere 2022 is a multi-episode web series that goes live on Ducati’s official website and social media channels. The brand also revealed that the Ducati DesertX concept would be put into production to compete in the booming adventure motorcycling segment.
Ducati DesertX – Design Highlights
The Ducati DesertX come with a Paris-Dakar enduro motorcycle-inspired theme. The motorcycle features twin rounded headlamps that incorporate LED DRLs with a unique light signature. The upright front nose also comes with a large windscreen that protects the rider from wind and weather. The bike also comes with a chiselled fuel tank and muscular side fairings. The DesertX comes with a single riding seat and a luggage space in place of the pillion seat. However, the production model could come with a pillion seat and grab rails integrated with a top box mount.
Ducati DesertX – Features
The Ducati DesertX will come with a full-colour instruments cluster, ergonomic seats and handlebars. The DesertX also features an auxiliary fuel tank integrated into the rear cowling. This helps with extra range and safety in case of a crash. The bike will also come with a 21-inch front wheel, upside-down long-travel suspension. Also, the bike comes with an asymmetrical swingarm, a commanding riding position, a high ground clearance, a bashplate and knobby off-road tyres. The bike also features Brembo high-specification twin-disc brakes on the front and a single disc on the rear.
Ducati DesertX – Platform
Ducati has revealed that the DesertX will be built on the Scrambler 1100 engine platform. The motorcycle is likely to come with an air-cooled 1079cc L-Twin-Cylinder engine. The engine on the Scrambler 1100 produces 86 Hp of power and 88 Nm of torque. The bike will come with a 6-speed gearbox and hydraulic clutch. The Euro5-spec engine will also come with an extensive electronics package.
