2021 Ducati Monster – Weight Reduction and Features
The Ducati Monster and Monster Plus come with a new aluminium Front Frame. The new frame weighs just 3 kg making it 4.5 kg lighter (60% less) than the previous trellis frame. Thanks to GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer), the bike also has a more lightweight subframe. This subframe also helps shave off 1.9 kg of weight. Apart from the frame, the motorcycle also comes with a 1.6 kg lighter swingarm and 1.7 kg lighter rims. The lighter rims help reduce the rotational mass of the motorcycle. In comparison with the Monster 821, the new Monster is an impressive 18 kg lighter. Thus, the new Monster tips the scales at just 166 kg dry.
The Monster also comes with a comprehensive electronics package. This includes a 4.3-inch TFT colour display, Power Modes and Riding Modes. The bike also comes with Ducati Quickshift, Ducati Power Launch, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, and ABS with a cornering function.
