Ather has revealed that its range of scooters which currently includes the 450X and 450 Plus will receive a price hike. Both scooters will now retail with an increase in the price of INR 5,500 on the ex-showroom price. The brand also mentioned that the price hike is due to the increase in the input cost. Some of the rises in the input cost and other factors that lead to the increase in the price will have to be absorbed by the consumer as well.
The exact amount of the price hike will vary from state to state, depending upon the EV incentives offered by the state. For example, in Mumbai, the revised price for Ather 450 Plus is INR 1.09 lakhs, meanwhile, for Ather 450X, it’s 1.29 lakhs ex-showroom. In comparison, the Ather 450X is costlier by INR 3,600 when compared with Ola S1. The price difference between Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450 Plus is around INR 14,600, with Ather being the costlier option. Ather reveals that the Ather Dot portable charger which was previously sold at INR 1, will now come with a price tag of INR 5,475. However, despite the price increase, no cosmetic or mechanical changes have been made to the scooter.
