KTM has introduced the new R variant of the KTM 890 Duke in the international market. The top-of-the-line KTM 890 Duke R comes with several styling and mechanical upgrades over the standard 890 Duke, revealed the brand. KTM also revealed that the new 890 Duke R boasts a more powerful engine than the standard iteration. The 890 Duke R also features a new Atlantic Blue colour theme which is similar to the new KTM RC16 GP racer and also the 1290 Super Duke R. The brand also offers a signature orange frame and alloy wheels on the new bike.
KTM 890 Duke R – Technical Specifications
Powering the new 890 Duke R is a liquid-cooled 889cc parallel-twin engine. The 8-valve engine produces 121 Hp of power and 99 Nm of torque. KTM reveals that the new motor has been optimised for race-centric riders. Also the KTM 890 Duke R has been dubbed as the SUPER SCALPEL thanks to its lightning-fast steering geometry. The KTM 890 Duke R also comes with a load-bearing tubular steel chassis that rides on adjustable WP APEX suspension. The motorcycle also features Brembo Stylema monoblock callipers. Also, the bike gets 320 mm discs on the front with an adjustable Brembo MCS master cylinder. The motorcycle also comes with Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres.

KTM 890 Duke R – Features
KTM offers the new 890 Duke R with – RAIN, STREET, SPORT, and optional TRACK riding mode. The motorcycle also features nine levels of adjustable traction control slip, anti-wheelie on/off, and the additional throttle control setting for full rider customisation. For safety, the 890 Duke R features Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC (motorcycle traction control). This is supplemented with a 6D lean angle sensor capable of detecting side-to-side (roll), forwards and backward (pitch) movements of the bike, as well as the rotation of the bike on its vertical axis (yaw). The motorcycles also come with a traction control management system thanks to the wheel slip control sensor and a pitch angle control sensor.
