India’s emerging electric vehicle brand, Atumobile Pvt. Ltd., has announced that the brand is extending its manufacturing capacity by inaugurating a 2nd manufacturing facility. The new production plant is located at Patancheru, Telangana, and the Hyderabad-based EV manufacturer claims to have increased its production capacity to more than three and a half lakh units per year. The brand inaugurated its first factory at Patancheru in 2020, which had a production capacity of just 25,000 units per year.
The brand reveals that the latest Net Zero facility in Patancheru showcases the ATUM’s Solar Roof. This claims to be the World’s first Electricity Generating Roof in the country. The factory has an area of over 20,000 sq. ft, the facility and produces the Atum 1.0. In addition to this, the company will also use the facility to introduce a new high-speed EVs alongside the low-speed Atum 1.0 electric bike.
Future Goals
Atumobile has revealed that the new facility with an improved production capacity for their ‘Made-in-India’ green initiative. The initiative will also allow the brand to transform India into a sustainable and environmentally-friendly nation. Statistics also reveal that the Indian EV market has grown by 135% during 2021, including approximately 2.3 lakh EVs. Also thanks to the introduction of FAME II subsidies, this number may rise to around 6 lakh units in 2022, claims Atumobile.
2022 Atum 1.0 – Highlights
Atumobile introduced the Atum 1.0 electric motorcycle in 2021. Their flagship model costs INR 54,999 (ex-showroom). The brand also revealed that it is one of the first companies in India to start a doorstep bike delivery service for its customers. The company also offers bike-related repairs via the service. Customers do not require a license or registration for the e-bike which also makes it suitable for students. The Atum 1.0 comes with a top speed of 25 kmph thanks to the 250W electric motor and a 48V battery.
