Yamaha has updated its quarter-litre track weapon the R25 for 2022. The motorcycle is currently available only in the Indonesian market. However, speculation is that the brand will introduce the motorcycle to other Asian markets very soon. But it is highly unlikely that the Japanese motorcycle will launch the R25 in the Indian market. Part of the 2022 update includes a new paint shade. Yamaha has revealed a new Racing Blue colour in combination with a matte black shade. This gives the motorcycle a very striking look. The second colour option is a Metallic Black paint theme. Enhancing the looks of the motorcycle are the golden USD forks making the bike look stealthy and aggressive. The brand has not made any mechanical or design changes in this update.
Technical Specifications
Powering the Yamaha R25 is a liquid-cooled 250cc engine that produces 36 BHP of power and 22.6 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed, constant mesh transmission. The overall kerb weight of the motorcycle is 166 kg and the fuel capacity of the bike is 14.30-litre. The Yamaha R25 also comes with upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock unit. Braking duties are handled by single discs on both wheels with dual-channel ABS as standard. The Yamaha R25 also comes with twin-pod LED headlights, as well as fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors. The bike also comes with a digital instrument cluster, a chiselled fuel tank, clip-on handlebars, split-style seats, and an LED taillight.
Future Plans
Yamaha offers the R15V4 as the entry-level sports bike in the Indian market. The R15-based MT-15 is also likely to come with new updates, as per reports. The updates are likely to be very similar to the one that we saw on the R15 V4.
