Yezdi Roadking Could Be a 650cc Modern-Classic

Classic Legends recently introduces the Yezdi brand under which they launched three new motorcycles in the Indian market. The ‘Legendary’ brand has introduced the Yezdi Adventure, Scrambler and the Roadster. In addition to this, the Yezdi brand also filed patents for the Roadking name at the Indian intellectual property office. The brand could already be planning to launch its fourth motorcycle in India with the new name. It is also important to note that, Yezdi has introduced its products in all three segments. These are touring, urban and cruising and the fourth motorcycle could be a new modern-classic bike with the Roadking name. However, the modern-classic Yezdi will not use the small capacity 334cc engine. The brand will introduce a new 650cc middleweight engine that will help compete with the Royal Enfield Twins.

Classic Legends also resurrected the BSA Motorcycles brand in the international market. However, BSA revealed that the brand would not be bringing its products to the Indian market anytime soon. But, the Yezdi brand is likely to borrow the engine from the recently unveiled BSA Goldstar. This will enable the company to compete with the Royal Enfield Twin motorcycles as well as other brand’s offering modern-classic bikes in the segment. BSA Motorcycles also announced that the brand will produce the engine for the GoldStar here in India. This will help the brand keep the prices competitive, thanks to high levels of localisation.

BSA Goldstar Engine Specifications

Powering the BSA Goldstar is a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-valve DOHC engine. The motor produces 45 Bhp of power and 55 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed transmission. The brand revealed that the engine has been developed in partnership with the Technical University of Graz and conforms to all the latest emission standards.
