Oben Electric Motorcycle Spotted Testing in India

As the electric vehicle market is gaining traction in the Indian market, a lot of new electric vehicle companies are emerging in the country. The government of India along with various state governments are also offering various incentives to manufacturers as well as customers. One of the new start-ups is Oben Electric, a Bengaluru based EV company that is currently testing its electric motorcycle prototype. Recently, the development mule of the electric two-wheeler was also seen on Indian roads. This suggests that the motorcycle is now in the road testing phase and could launch soon. The company already has 16 patented innovations which also lead us to believe that the Oben Electric motorcycle will have a lot of new and interesting features.

Currently, the test vehicle is completely camouflaged, but the details of the motorcycle have not been revealed yet. However, the motorcycle’s design seems quite distinctive. The EV appears to be quite compact, which will help filter through city traffic with ease. The electric motorcycle also gets classic styling elements, making it a neo-retro style bike. The motorcycle also comes with sculpted bodywork and a rounded headlamp. The bike also comes with alloy wheels.

Powertrain Details

Oben Electric has not revealed all the details of the powertrain. However, the brand did mention that the motorcycle is capable of breaking the 100 kmph mark and comes with a range of 200 km on a single charge. In addition to this, the motorcycle will also be capable of sprinting from 0 to 40 kmph in under 3 seconds. The company claims that the EV is capable of charging in just 2 hours. The Oben Electric Motorcycle also comes with an LCD instrument cluster that offers connected tech, riding statistics, multiple driving modes etc.
