EICMA 2021: MV Agusta Reveals Lucky Explorer 9.5 Prototype Adventure Bike

Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta has unveiled the new project series Lucky Explorer 9.5 adventure motorcycle at the EICMA 2021 in Milan. Currently, the adventure motorcycle is in the prototype stage, and speculation is that the bike will feature the Lucky Explorer nameplate when put into production. Also, there are rumours that MV Agusta may name the bike ‘Cagiva Elefant’ upon its launch.

MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 9.5: Design Details 

According to MV Agusta the brand is likely to incorporate the design elements into the production model despite the bike being a concept. The MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 9.5 comes with an aggressive and upright design language. The adventure motorcycle comes with a two-piece LED headlamp and a tall windscreen. The bike also features a beefy semi-fairing, along with a narrow seating position and a rugged bash plate.

The motorcycle draws its design inspiration from the original Dakar Racer’s Lucky Explorer logo. MV agusta also offers the motorcycle with silver-coloured body panels and red, yellow, and black graphics. Other elements include the tall upswept exhaust, semi-exposed chassis, which integrates itself into the rear seat. The Lucky Explorer 9.5 sports spoked wheels also comes with knobby tires.

MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 9.5: Technical Specs 

Powering the Lucky Explorer 9.5 is an MV Agusta developed 931cc three-cylinder engine. The engine produces 123 PS of power and 102 Nm of torque. The new engine, interestingly shares its components with MV agusta’s venerable 800cc triple motor. However, the new engine featuresa new cylinder head, steel intake and exhaust valves, and forged aluminium-alloy pistons. The engine also comes with counter-rotating crankshaft.

The brand also offers a 50mm inverted front fork with 220mm of travel and a rear monoshock with 210mm of travel. The bike gets 230mm of ground clearance and riders can adjust the seat height between 850mm and 869.95mm. The Lucky Explorer 9.5 comes with dual 320mm front brake discs with 4-piston Brembo callipers and ABS.
