Yamaha has revealed the new Ténéré 700 Raid Prototype at the EICMA 2021 show in Milan. The brand had unveiled the T7 Concept launched in 2016, which is the design inspiration for the new Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype model. The company has revealed that the new 2022 Ténéré 700 Raid Prototype features a rugged rally-inspired character from the original T7 Concept. Yamaha also employs a number of updates on the prototype thanks to the learning from the T7’s intensive testing.
2022 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Raid Prototype – Design Details
The Ténéré adventure bike features a lean body style with a slim fuel tank and a flat seat, reverberating with the enduro style racers. The slim and athletic motorcycle helps the rider grip the fuel tank while even when riding out of the saddle. This also help increase the agility of the machine and the confidence of the rider. Yamaha also employs a protective fairing with handguards along with a tapered handlebar for comfortable long rides.
The motorcycle also gets a robust windscreen, along with compact quad LED headlights on the cowl. Yamaha also offers the motorcycle with a carbon fibre side panels, front fender, and single-piece rear tail section. The Ténéré 700 Raid Prototype also comes with colour-coordinated spoke wire rims. The Yamaha Ténéré 700 Raid Prototype features Racing Blue colour scheme with carbon fibre bodywork that draws inspiration from the T7 Concept.

Powering the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Raid Prototype is the CP2-series 689cc, two-cylinder cross-plane concept engine. The engine also does duty on the Yamaha MT-07 and the Yamaha R7. The compact engine also features a GYTR ECU for added performance. Yamaha also employs the adventure motorcycle with a custom-made rally-style Akrapovic exhaust system.
The motorcycle comes with a steel chassis for improved rigidity optimized for both on-road and off-road riding. The bike features 48mm,fully-adjustable, upside down front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. Braking duties are handled by dual 300mm front brake discs with a single 267mm disc on the rear.
