KTM has revealed the updated 2022 1290 Super Duke GT in the international market. The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer was not present at the EICMA 2021 show in Milan. But KTM has discreetly revealed the new grand touring motorcycle. KTM has made changes on the 1290 Super Duke GT which is based on the ones made on its 1290 R.
2022 1290 Super Duke GT – Design Highlights
The 2022 1290 Super GT comes with scalpel LED headlamps featuring cornering light functions. The headlamps also come integrated with LED indicators. KTM offers the motorcycle with exclusive GT-only graphics and relaxed ergonomics apt for long-distance riding. The bike also features the signature orange colour scheme. The Grand Tourer also comes with a 23-litre fuel tank and CAD-designed 5-spoke wheels. The motorcycle gets removable pannier mountings to allow space for luggage.
2022 1290 Super Duke GT – Features
The Super Duke GT also comes with the latest software and electronics. KTM offers the motorcycle with a unique ‘Turn-By-Turn Plus’ navigation mode. This feature lets the rider monitor their GPS position via the 7-inch TFT dashboard display. The GPS system also allows the rider to set five favourite destinations on the dashboard. In addition to this, the motorcycle also comes with Motor Slip Regulation (Traction Control), Cruise Control, Motorcycle Stability Control, Hill Hold Control, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
2022 1290 Super Duke GT – Technical Specifications
Powering the 1290 Super Duke GT is a 1301cc, liquid-cooled, L-twin engine. The engine produces 175 PS of power and 141 Nm of torque. The motor comes with a 6-speed gearbox and features KTM’s signature race-derived Quickshifter+.
The motorcycle rides on a 48mm WP Semi-active front suspension, and a WP SAT rear monoshock suspension for enhanced handling. Braking power comes from dual 320mm brake discs with 4-piston Brembo callipers and Supermoto ABS. The 1290 Super Duke GT comes with a single 240mm brake disc with a two-piston Brembo calliper on the rear.
