BMW Motorrad has announced that the brand will be returning the K 1600 range in the international market. The BMW K 1600 is a premium touring motorcycle series that made its debut back in the year 2010. BMW directly competes with the Honda Gold Wing with the K 1600 motorcycle. However, the sport-touring segment has other options as well that include the likes of Honda NT1100, Suzuki GSX-S1000GT, and more. Therefore the brand is also providing the motorcycle with a host of changes for the 2022 model K 1600. The 2022 K 1600 Series will include – the K 1600 B, K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, and K 1600 Grand America.
2022 BMW K 1600 Range of Motorcycles
The BMW Motorrad K 1600 B is the entry level motorcycle to this series, and the Grand America is the most premium offering. In the United Kingdom the prices start at GBP 20,215 MSRP for the K 1600 B. The brand will retail GBP 20,395 MSRP for the K 1600 GT. Meanwhile, the K 1600 GTL will have a sticker price of GBP 21,920 MSRP. The top-of-the-line K 1600 Grand America will retail at the price of GBP 24,410 MSRP. According to BMW Motorrad, the K 1600 features enhanced ergonomics, thus ensuring agility and better manoeuvrability. BMW also boasts that this is the narrowest in-line six motorcycle in this segment.
2022 BMW K 1600 – Technical Specifications
Powering the K 1600 is an in-line six cylinder motor. The engine is capable of producing 160 Hp of power and 180 Nm of torque. The motor is now Euro5 compliant and hence we see an updated emission figure. The motorcycle comes with new engine control, knock sensor system and new engine drag torque control. BMW is also offering multiple riding modes including – Road, Dynamic and Rain.

The BMW Motorrad K 1600 series will come with a host of features including dynamic ESA ‘Next Generation’ electronic suspension. The motorcycle also comes with automatic load compensation, fully adaptive LED lighting, 10.25 inch TFT colour screen with turn-by-turn navigation, USB-C port, smartphone compartment and more.
