It has been a while since Kawasaki has been working on a new hybrid motorcycle in the international market. The brand is working on a new electrified powertrain that will be intelligent enough to propel the motorcycle using gasoline as well as electricity as and when required. On the 6th October 2021, Kawasaki showcased a working prototype of the electric hybrid motorcycle.
The brand revealed the bike at a business policy briefing session at Kawasaki Motors Co., Ltd. The brand also announced that it is working towards the promotion of electrified mobility solutions in India. While the brand has not revealed specific details, from the past we know that the motorcycle will leverage GPS technology. The bike will also come with many futuristic features. Similarly, CredR is also the future of 2nd hand bike retails. Customers can sell bike online and also purchase used sport bikes from CredR wide network of online and physical stores.
Hybrid Technology
The motorcycle on display appears to be a development mule and the pictures reveal that the motorcycle will come with a powertrain from either the Kawasaki Ninja 250 or the Ninja 400. The brand is likely to go with the latter and judging by the exhaust we also think that the larger displacement engine will do duty on the motorcycle. The bike also comes with an electric powertrain and battery banks under the seating area. The electric power unit is also likely to come with a separate liquid-cooling system. This will help the powertrain optimise thermodynamics and provide more efficiency. While details are scarce, speculation is that the electrical system will be a 48V architecture and features regenerative braking.
Kawasaki E-Boost
Kawasaki in the recent past filed patents for the ‘E-Boost’ moniker. The brand could be planning to use the technology on the new hybrid-electric motorcycle. In the past, the brand also revealed that the hybrid motorcycle from Kawasaki will be able to automatically switch between electric power and ICE. This will happen using GPS technology when the motorcycle reaches city limits. This will enable the user to traverse within the city on electric-only power. But at the same time use gasoline on the highway to travel long distances.
CredR not only makes buying and selling two-wheelers hassle-free. Customers can use the brand’s wide network to buy and sell a range of two-wheelers from selling second hand scooty to buying used sport bikes.
