Honda has revealed a new touring motorcycle in the international market. The new Honda NT1100 is a touring machine based on the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin which is quite popular in both the Indian and international markets. The new Honda NT1100 comes with highway touring dynamics with the brand’s venerable 1100 twin engine. The new motorcycle will not only add to the brand portfolio value but also help the Japanese brand compete with BMW S 1000 XR, BMW F 900 XR, Yamaha Tracer 7, Yamaha Tracer 9, Triumph Tiger Sport, Kawasaki Versys 1000 etc. Honda’s popular Africa Twin also shares a slice of cake in the segment and even though it shares the engine and running gear with the NT1100, the brand targets the highway touring customers which are currently booming in the international market.
Honda NT1100 – Design and Features
The Honda NT1100 comes with a sharp design language and aerodynamic front end. The motorcycle will come with twin headlamps integrated with LED daytime running lights. The front fascia also comes with wind deflectors that reduce the wind blasts and in turn reduce the rider’s fatigue. The Honda NT1100 will come with a futuristic faring design that integrates with the fuel tank and offers a scooped seat design. The bike also comes with luggage mounting points and a sleek tail section. The tail also features a luggage rack integrating pillion grab rails.
The Honda NT1100 comes with features such as a 5-stage adjustable windscreen and Panniers as standard. The motorcycle also gets three default riding modes – Urban, Rain, Tour, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control, and more. The bike also comes with a 6.5-inch TFT touch screen that offers Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity.
Honda NT1100 – Technical Specifications
Powering the Honda NT1100 is a 1,048cc parallel-twin-cylinder 8-valve engine. The liquid-cooled engine produces 100 Bhp of power and 104 Nm of torque. The motorcycle comes with a 6-speed manual and DCT automatic gearbox options. The bike features a semi-double-cradle frame with a bolt-on aluminium subframe that rides on 43 mm Showa USD forks and Showa mono-shock on the rear.
