Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Aprilia has launched the updated 2022 SR 160 scooter for the Indian market. For 2022 Aprilia has updated its SR 160 scooter that will help the brand fight with the competition, that offers modern features. The brand’s pre-facelift models were in all honesty outdated, but now the brand has thoroughly updated the model with the latest features. Aprilia’s updated scooter range consists of SR 125 which we covered in our recent post. Now the brand has launched the new SR 160 in the Indian market which comes with Carbon and Race editions.
2022 Aprilia SR160 – Price and Design Highlights
The Aprilia SR 160 comes with a price tag starting at INR 1.17 lakh ex-showroom. Furthermore, the SR 160 Carbon and Race Edition cost INR 1.20 lakh ex-showroom and INR 1.27 lakh ex-showroom, respectively. Both the Carbon and Race variants differ from their standard variants only in colours and graphics.
Aprilia has announced that customers can book the scooter online via the brand’s official website. The scooter can be reserved for a token amount of INR 5,000. The scooter is also available at all authorized dealerships across the country. The Aprilia SR 160 range comes with five colour options – White, Blue, Grey, Red, and Matte Black.
The 2022 Aprilia SR 160 now comes with a new LED headlamp with a sharp apron and a redesigned front end. Aprilia has also redesigned the handlebar cowl making the front end sharper than before. The scooter also features new pillion grab rails and also gets added air-scoops for better aerodynamics. In addition to this, the scooter now comes with knuckle guards on the Race model, and also gets split-design seats. Aprilia also offers new CEAT tyres instead of the MRF ones from its predecessor. The Aprilia SR 160 range also features Aprilia branded graphics on the front and rear side panels along with Aprilia badging.
2022 Aprilia SR160 – Technical Specifications
Powering the new Aprilia SR160 a 160cc, air-cooled, three-valve engine. The engine produces 10.84 PS of power and 11.6 Nm of torque. The SR 160 features front telescopic forks a monoshock rear suspension and 14-inch alloy wheels. The 2022 Aprilia SR 160 also gets a front brake disc with single-channel ABS and a rear drum brake.
Aprilia has also added a new fully-digital LCD screen borrowed from its SXR 160. The display features Speed, RPM (tachometer), mileage, average speed, top speed, distance-to-empty range, odometer, but lacks Bluetooth connectivity. The SR 160 also gets an under-storage capacity of 11-litres, a USB charger, boot light, and a 6-litre fuel tank.
